Frequently
Asked
Questions

1 / What to bring for the activity?

» There is always a possibility that you get wet, so be dressed for -salty- water conditions. In summer, your bathing suit is ideal but during spring or autumn, you might want a windproof jacket or several layers of clothes.

» A refreshment is always nice while kayaking.

» Dry clothes for after the activity. Especially in the colder months, it is important to keep warm so extra clothes are advisable.

» SHOES?  There are sharp shells on the beaches and in the water. Although you might see the locals or the guides without shoes, it is always adviced to wear watershoes or a pair of old sportshoes.

2 / How can I pay?

With most activities we demand a small deposit online. For the rest of the amount, you can either opt for full payment online or choose to pay the rest of the amount on the beach. WE ACCEPT CASH AND CARDS! Please pay your activity BEFORE THE START.

3 / What do the guides do on the tour?

Our very experienced and multi-lingual guides are there for several reason:

» Safety on the water. They will make sure that everyone is safe on the water and in case something happens, will immediately assist you.

» Information. Our guides are excellent "connaisseurs" of the Ria Formosa and the islands, the fauna and flora but also have a lot to tell about the Natural Park in General. They are there to answer all your questions and needs

4 / Is it safe to kayak on the Ria Formosa?

All our Tours are suitable for first time kayakkers. No previous experience is required. We do ask that everyone is in a general good condition and can swim at least 100 meter.

Everybody is oblight to wear a lifejacket on the kayak. We provide you with the lifejacket.

The waters of Ria Formosa are protected from the ocean by the islands and are with good weather very calm. However currents and wind can change very fast. A small briefing before the start of your activity will explain you what to look for on that specific day. When you take the advice of our staff in mind, you will be 100% safe on the water.
